It could mislead you into thinking the install disc is faulty when it's just memory-limited. Under fdisk NTFS will show as an unknown partition, but it can still be deleted. When someone merely copies that CD for you, unless the copy is made with correct 'clone' options, you won't get the bootable capability. Regards.
The easy way out would be to purchase a USB (assuming you have USB) Floppy or CDROM drive. The installation disk I am trying to use is a copy so I guess it must be suspect. Anyway, doing it this way EVERYTHING is still there, any data, documents, etc., and you just need to install the Win98 OS and any software.
