Boot.ini File The addition of the boot.ini file with Windows NT allowed more than one instance of an operating system to exist on a computer. I was using easybcd to edit the boot record, and following all the howtos and manuals and whatnot. Kinda sucks when most machines don't come with floppies anymore. In EASYBCD,I have mistakenly select type of Operating system as VISTAbecause windows 7 option was not there. Fast boot settings can be changed in Power options(Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Power Options\System Settings - Change Settings that are currently unavailable - uncheck "Turn on fast startup"). Switch the PC off, and make the second 'master' again.
