My suspicion is the wireless (phone extension via mains) adaptor which my uncle in the UK gave me - I think this might be a BT/Eircom wiring issue... It doesn't surprise me that many don't wish to or even fear using the modem provided by Telstra. Anyway here's hoping! Just noticed this afternoon that somehow the box outside that brings the connection in is smashed to bits! Some of the modems did not respond in the way they’re designed to do, and we expect we’ll be able to address that through a software update. today i went and got a netcomm something or other adsl modem with the intention of just testing to see if it fixed the problem...
Do router/modems go bad? I had the same problem with my PC modem where I used to live. (and have found a number of other people who've had the same problem.)The solution seems to be Now when I connect my Laptop with a Cat5e to the Linksys router it gets max download and upload speed.So far I havent had any drops in connection its just that If it fails, the modem or Charter will be the issue.If it is the modem and/or connection - I would suggest having Charter out to troubleshoot - there could be issues
