The upside is - when I had 1 processor it ran at 98% and anything else I wanted to do was sluggish at best. I would turn off AVG, definitely. It's the way Windoze handles things. That said, all of the supercomputers out there use multi-CPUs to get their speed.Btw, both Intel and AMD are talking 6 cores already.

The "cpu afinity" is to be a part of the new version of BOINC but it has not been released yet. So, I've selected the seti job(s) and manually adjusted their affinity. Officially, i912 and i925 motherboards can't support dual core processors. In that case the faster core will win.
