Dual Channel RAM Confusion

May I suggest you buy another module of 8GB RAM so you can dual channel your 8GB of RAM? Ask a question and give support. The CPU_Z program was found by accident, and I'm not aware of any other Benchmark programs I could use to confirm or deny what's happening. Dual-Channel is just a "trick" of allocating two identical sized banks of memory into two channels which can effectively double the transfer rate. http://pseudoblog.net/dual-channel/dual-channel-fsb-calculating-the-bottlenecks-is-dual-channel-worth-it.html

Quad Channel Ram

Depending what you do on your PC, you could see some nice improvements in performance with a new CPU, and a motherboard that supports DDR3 RAM. –DrZoo Aug 12 '16 at DDR simply means that when the memory controller has two sticks of matching Ram to address it will do so twice in a clock cycle. Any stick from them is a good buy. Click here to join today!

  • But my point stands, your RAM will get added up.So keep your 2 modules of 4GB RAM where they are (make sure they are in the right slots for dual channel).

But I do use my system as a flight simulator, and noticed a vast improvement in response and graphics when I retired my old system and bought this. With dual channel, the bandwith is theoretcially doubled, which would allow double the amount of data to pass through the memory controller to the CPU; technically allowing for double speed.Despite the Morgan Kaufmann. All other things being equal memory set to 3200MT/s 14-14-14-32 is generally going to perform slightly better than 3333 16-18-18-38, but you can't just add the timings together because they interact

It is generally advised not to mix two different models/makes of DRAM as you can run into compatibility issues. Some sites don't even show my SR1550NX.... Dual Channel Memory

having 4 chips is not quad-channel (at present, I'm sure in the future quad-channel arrays will be common), because your motherboard will bundle two slots into each channel. https://linustechtips.com/main/topic/368468-dual-channel-memory-confusion/ Log in with Facebook Log in with Twitter Log in with Google Your name or email address: Do you already have an account? What dual channel basically means is that your motherboard has the capability of using two RAM sticks at once for a single task to increase performance.EDIT: Your motherboard won't have different Bottom-line is your CPU has this capability and as long as the RAM is in the right slots it will activate automatically. Confused with RAM slots on motherboard solved RAM Confusion? I am not certain; the HP website for this computer does not appear to be useful enough for me to make any other suggestions.
